A couple of questions. By and large, across the various SF/F universes I’ve experienced, magic can encompass good, neutral, and evil spells and such, but as a whole magic is usually presented as neutral at its core. In this case, is magic/alchemy neutral or is it aligned in one direction or the other? Zoana’s chanting and the imagery gives the impression of being evil or dark in nature, but that doesn’t really mean anything. It’s just Katherine is supposedly an archmage, so unless there was something truly dark or evil about Zoana’s spell, I wouldn’t have thought she’d have reacted that strongly. And then the real question is, because Zoana was so insistent on the girls avoiding the circle, is Katherine going to do something stupid and rush the cirlcleto put a stop to this dark activity, or even to “save” Zoana? Can’t wait to see where it goes
